About Troop 58
On February 1, 2019 Scouts BSA Troop 58 for girls was founded. We are a TOWN TROOP chartered by the Davidson Lion's Club and enjoy strong support from the local church community including Davidson United Methodist Church and Davidson College Presbyterian Church.
The Scouts BSA program, formerly named Boy Scouts of America, updated their program name to accommodate all girl troops and all boy troops for ages 11-17 effective February 1, 2019. For the first time in its 100+ year history, the iconic program of the Boy Scouts of America opened to young women. Prior to February 1 it is important to note that many girls were already involved in BSA programs: more than 35% of Explorer, Venture, Sea Scouts and STEM Scouts are girls/young women. More information about this program is available at https://www.scouting.org/familyscouting/
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that develops leadership skills, builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
Leadership
Scouts BSA Troops are led by the scouts that engage in the program. Adult Leaders are always present to provide encouragement, guidance, and support.
Troop 58's Scoutmaster is Tanya Chartier. For questions about Troop 58, you may contact her at T58scoutsBSA@gmail.com
