Instructions:
Thank you for stepping up to be webmaster for this term of the PLC! This link is your main gateway for updating info on the website.
Below is a summary of the tasks you are responsible for:
1) Scoutmaster Weekly Update (update every Sunday!)
When Mr. Kunz sends out his Sunday email, simply copy it and paste it into the Scoutmaster Weekly Update doc. Mr. Kunz has asked us to remove any mention of exact addresses, so for example this week's email lists the address of Fisher Farm, so we would want to remove that.
This google doc will then be visible when viewers click:
We have several parents who's email account blocks Mr. Kunz's email so this gives them a place to keep up-to-date on the troop events!
2) Service, Leadership & Merit Badge dates (update as new events come out)
Use the "Service, Leadership & Merit Badges" link to update important upcoming dates on the home page.
** For this google sheet, the website automatically inserts the top 4 events into the GT58 home page. It's your job to keep these top 4 events up to date!
Service Projects:
Watch Mr Kunz's Sunday email for new service projects from Mrs. Brooks or Mrs. Linen. Simply delete old events from the google sheet and update with new events & links. You should also reach out to Mrs Brooks & Linen introducing yourself and to see if there are any other service projects coming up to add to the list. Don't forget any upcoming Eagle projects! This list is inserted on the home page as well as the "Community Service" page.
Leadership & Merit Badge Opportunities:
Several of the events from Sept have passed by so you can remove these and shift the new dates up. As winter and spring dates come out, please update them in the sheet. You can reference these two web pages to lookup other leadership & merit badge opportunities from outside the troop:

3) Populate the Troop Google Calendar
I have given you access to the GT58 Google Calendar. Please take a look and confirm you have access to edit. Do your best to keep this calendar as up-to-date as possible! For example, I just noticed that none of the upcoming service projects are on the calendar yet so you can get those added! The calendar shows up on the home page and viewers can add it to their phones as well.
4) Coming Soon! Wix CMS
This feature isn't quite ready yet, but I am working on an easier way to update the "Upcoming Campouts" tiles in the first column of the home page. Once the Wix CMS is set up you will have access to help keep the upcoming trip info up to date. We will work on this in a few months.
Your ultimate goal as webmaster is to keep the scouts and parents as informed as possible on all the various events and activities coming up! Take a look at the 4 items above, follow the links and see if it all makes sense to you.
